Once the Festive season has come and gone, you’ll need a go-to beverage that is not only non-alcoholic, but also helps cleanse and soothe the weary soul. This blackcurrant iced tea is the perfect refresh and reset after the silly season. This particular Pukka organic tea is full of dark fruits to help you glow from the inside out.

Ingredients
Method
  • Place your teabags in a large bowl or jug.
  • Steep the tea bags in 4 cups of boiling water for 15 mins before removing.
  • Add the orange slices and star anise before covering and refrigerating until chilled.
  • To serve, remove the orange and star anise.
  • Sweeten the tea with strawberry stevia to your desired level. We used 1 full milliliter of liquid stevia.
  • Pour the tea into large glasses full of ice.
  • Add frozen fruit, if you choose, then squeeze a quarter of a lime into the tea before adding to the glass.
STYLING NOTES

I’m loving this vintage-look bottle from Kmart for drinks storage and service, and at $4 it’s an absolute bargain. I matched the bottle with the Positano glassware also from Kmart. The simple cut makes them super versatile. If you’re looking to serve your drinks in style add a wooden tray to the offering.

Cook’s Notes
  • Herbal Iced Tea is a fabulous way to deliciously hydrate without the caffeine or sugar added.
  • The stevia is optional. Try unsweetened tea first and see how you go. When sweetening start low and add small amounts until you reach the desired level.
  • The dark fruits in this tea are full of antioxidants which have been shown to scavenge free radicals from the body cells and prevent or reduce the damage caused by oxidation.
